The Repipe Question

Look at the exposed run near the water heater. Grey and threaded means galvanized. Hold a magnet to it if you are unsure, since galvanized is magnetic and copper is not.

Rust coloured water on first draw from several taps, rather than one, points at the supply pipe rather than the water heater.
Add up three years of plumbing call outs. If that is a meaningful fraction of a repipe quote, you are already paying for one without getting it.
If the valves under the sinks have seized, that is another sign of overall age and it becomes an emergency at exactly the wrong moment.
